Language year at university
A semester or a year studying Chinese on a university programme for international students. The big leap in level, living on campus.
University degree in China
We help you choose a university and degree, prepare the application and go for the scholarships available. There are degrees taught in Chinese and in English.

We're with you all the way
1. Advice
We talk with you (and your family, if you're under 18) to understand what you're after, and check your Chinese level. We propose the programme and give you the price fixed in writing.
2. Enrolment
We secure your place on the trip or handle the university and scholarship applications, with a clear calendar.
3. Preparation
Documents, insurance and a pre-departure meeting. Meanwhile, you prepare your Chinese at our school.
4. During and after
Support during your stay and, when you're back, help to keep progressing with the language.

At British Fleming School we teach Mandarin Chinese with native teachers, from beginner to intermediate. You'll arrive in China able to introduce yourself, get around and make the most of your classes from day one.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know Chinese for the summer trip?
No. The trip is designed for beginners too: classes adapt to your level. If you'd like to arrive with a foundation, you can start with us beforehand.
What level of Chinese do universities ask for?
A language year needs no prior level. Many degrees taught in Chinese require an HSK certificate; there are also degrees taught in English. We'll tell you what you need for each university.
Are there scholarships to study in China?
Yes, from the Chinese government and from the universities themselves. They have their own deadlines, usually early in the year: we help you prepare them.
Do I need a visa?
It depends on length and programme. At the advice meeting we explain the current requirements and help you with the process.
What isn't included in the summer trip?
Flights and pocket money. Everything else is included: classes, accommodation, meals, activities, insurance, transfers and support.
Is it safe for a minor?
It's a group trip, with support throughout the stay, insurance included and contact with families. We explain everything at the pre-departure meeting.
