Your TOEFL to study in the USA

Short answer: if you want to study in the United States, start with TOEFL iBT. Many American universities only accept TOEFL, which makes it essential for the US.

Ideal if…

You want to study in the United States.

• Many US universities only accept TOEFL.
• Computer-based exam.
• At BFS: native teachers and real mock exams.

What the exam looks like

TOEFL iBT tests Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, all on a computer — Speaking included, which you record into a microphone rather than doing with an examiner. So preparation isn't only about English: you need to get used to speaking against a timer and typing at a good pace. Each university sets its own minimum score, so check your programme's requirement first. Results are usually accepted for two years.
