Which English certificate do you need for Erasmus 2027–28?

Short answer: it depends where you're going. For an Erasmus exchange in Europe, a Cambridge B2 First or C1 Advanced is usually the most practical choice. If you're heading to the UK, Ireland, Canada or Australia, look at IELTS Academic. For the United States, TOEFL iBT. And if you'd rather sit a fully computer-based exam with fast results, Pearson PTE Academic. Erasmus 2027–28 calls open between October and January, so the time to get your certificate is now.

What level do they ask for? Most universities require at least B2 for Erasmus, and some ask for C1. Many also run their own language tests with very specific sign-up windows in November and December: don't leave it to the last minute.
One detail that matters: Cambridge certificates don't expire — take it once and it's yours for life (though some universities ask for a recent one). IELTS, TOEFL and PTE are usually accepted for two years.
